The horse ride to the canyon was short but nice. We loved the views of Horseshoe Bend from this view so much more, no crowds and much better views. Our guide was Jerrianne and she was so amazing. She gave us some history of the land and enjoyed learning about her and her family.
This is a real winner. Marvin took us on 4x4 to his family's slot canyon (windcastle). The drive (not very long) was spectacular. We felt very fortunate to be able to walk through this slot canyon with Marvin and no other tourists. We learned a lot about the area and Navajo history/current events. It was an easy walk as he had installed some critical steps inside the slot canyon. We then rode beautiful and well behaved horses to their property which overlooks the horse shoe bend....No crowds, just us, to enjoy the view...It was a magical afternoon. We are lucky that we stumbled on this activity. It was very peaceful after going on a group tour of upper antelope canyon and lower antelope canyon...no other people...
Jerrianne was knowledgable and friendly! The horses were calm, well trained, and most importantly, looked well cared for. We booked 1 hr ride and i highly recommend it because you get a unique view of horseshoe bend without ANY crowds!! Jerryanne knows how to set up your photos also- don't hesitate to book!
